Most proposals for “saving the world” seek better ways of doing things, new or improved forms of international cooperation, and the like. Such changes and systems are good—and they are needed. But experience shows that the effectiveness of all changes depends on people, more than systems. Look at history: One by one, so many great social movements, so many hopeful structures have been brought down by selfishness, laziness, and greed—in short, by egoism.

The dominance of ego in this world is truly what needs to be changed. But egoism is not a political or ideological phenomenon; it can only be addressed on the individual level, where it originates. This change happens one person at a time. Therefore, we are doing what we can to support people in understanding the problem that ego represents, and converting from ego to a life of love.
